LOUDfence & Safeguarding Sunday: 19th Nov

Here in St Werburgh’s, there will be a presentation at each Sunday Mass today, telling us where we are up to. LOUDfence is a community activity of solidarity and support with abuse victims and survivors. Check out their website to find out more. Liz and Chris will have copies of their handout available at every Mass, and please note their new email address on Page One of the Newsletter.

 

Primary School Christmas Fair Raffle

The Primary School PTA will be selling raffle tickets at 9.00 Mass on 12th 26th November, and at 10.45 Mass on 19th and 26th November. Tickets are £1 each. 1st Prize - £50 with lots of other prizes. All money raised goes to the Primary School.

Youth Mass for Christ the King

A new venture from our wonderful Parish Renewal Team: A Youth Mass at 6.00 pm on Sunday 26th November, Christ the King, which is Youth Sunday. We will be having some hymns and readings, all presented by the youngsters of our Parish.

Do come along and support them!

 

Library Open Morning: Monday 27th November

9.30-11.30 am. A selection of books on the theme of Advent will be available or browse the many other categories and themes on offer. Reviews, recommendations and suggestions always welcome.

 

Gardeners, “Tip Trippers”, Welcome Wednesdays

Tremendous effort by the gardeners and tippers. Thank you, all the outhouses now cleared.

Welcome Wednesday coffee morning last week was a hive of activity , coffee, tea and good cheer served,  goodies consumed (= 2.00 am in Kitchen), and beautiful Christmas decorations made… If you’ve not joined us yet, why not pop in next Wednesday?

 

Two Lovely Ways of Celebrating Advent

  • A beautiful way to prepare for the birth of Our Lord. Prayer, reflection and  Advent music 7.00 pm Wednesday  6th December.
  • Advent Reflection Morning: Friday 1st December 9.30: Coffee; 10-12  noon: Morning of Reflection This will be a time for listening, reflection and conversation in preparation for remembering and sharing the Advent journey.

To give some idea of numbers please put your name on the sheet at the back of church.  All welcome.

 

Carol Singing in the Nursing Homes

The SVP would like to invite you to join us singing carols on Thursday 14th December. We will be with the residents of the Grosvenor Villas care home at 11.00, and at the Oaklands care home at 14:30. Please join us for a day of Christmas merriment!

SVP Second Collection: 2nd / 3rd  December

The SVP second collection will take place on the 2nd  and 3rd December. The money raised will go to the families and beneficiaries we support specially during Christmas. We thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

 

Highlight from the High School 

In preparation for the CHS Christmas Fair on 19th of December, we are currently collecting books for one of the stalls. If you have any book in good condition that you would like to donate, please drop them off at the school reception for the attention of Ana.
