Would all candidates and, in the case of youngsters, at least ONE parent come to ONE of the two available Launch Meetings – Tuesday 9th July or Tuesday 16th July, both at 7.00 pm in the Church? The full programme will be given out, and all questions answered. If you’ve not yet sent your name in, please just come along to the Launch, and we’ll collect your details then.

Edward’s Graduation in Edinburgh on Tuesday

A splendid occasion as you can imagine, in the magnificently restored McEwan Hall. Wonderful to see all the Graduands, but I always feel those needing the warmest thanks and congratulations on these great occasions are the parents. None of this wold have been possible without them.

Our Mission Together Appeal Minor Works

You will remember that we supported the Diocesan Appeal magnificently, and that a third of what we raised was for our own Parish use. The Major Project is the remodelling of the outside front of the church, and we are ready now to pick up on that scheme. We also had a list of “Minor Works”, items we would like to have but which would stretch our annual Budget. Some of these we have purchased already, others we’re ready to consult you, the parishioners, about. The full list of budgeted items and “Flyer to Parish” is now with Parish Council, and we hope to have them out to you, the Parishioners, next weekend.

Sponsored Walk for Alzheimer’s Charity

On 20th July Ruth Tierney and her daughters, Clare and Madeleine, are taking part in a 26-mile hike in the Lake District organised by the Alzheimer's Society. They are doing the hike in memory of Ruth's mother, Gill. Ruth will be at the back of church after each Mass on Sunday 14th July if you would like to sponsor them.  Anyone interested in hiking themselves, either the full 26 miles or the 13-mile option? Deadline for enrolling is 5th July. More information on  www.alzheimers.org.uk or Ruth, 07790-133-837.

Isabel and Tobi’s Wedding in Spain – 6th July

Tobi was on Parish Council for three years and taken fabulous photos for us. Isabel has written the whole Confirmation Programme and helps lead it superbly. Without them, CathSoc would never have got off the ground in 2011. Honoured to go out to Spain for their wedding, leaving here Thursday lunchtime and back straight after the Ceremony on Saturday evening.

Rev Karen Andrews’ Diaconate Ordination

Karen writes: “Many thanks to those who supported me last Sunday as I was ordained Deacon at Chester Cathedral. It was a wonderful service and a beautiful day. Many thanks also to the Werbies who have supported me in so many ways along this journey. How fortunate I have been to have you all behind me, praying with me and encouraging me along the way. Now I have started working as Curate of the parish of St Philip’s, Kelsall and on Sunday 7th July I will preach there for the first time and so a new chapter begins. Thank you once again and every blessing. Revd. Karen Andrews”.
