St Werburgh’s SVP is delighted to report that its 2025 ‘Healing Mass’, organised in close conjunction with members of the Church Liturgy Group and supported by the ‘Welcome Wednesday’ and Bereavement Groups, was a huge success, with well over 100 people in attendance, many of whom were from outside of the Parish and some who travelled long distances to come along.
The original idea for the Healing Mass was the brainchild of SVP Member Bernadette O’Shea, who felt strongly that so many people are suffering today - in all sorts of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual ways - and would really benefit from the prayers, thoughts and the support of their Church friends, colleagues and community. 2025 marked the Healing Mass’s second year, again wonderfully celebrated by Fr Paul and Fr Neill, and such was its success that the hope is it may well perhaps become a regular date in St Werburgh’s Parish Diary.
We are pleased to show some of the photos taken at the service and afterwards, together with a copy of the Healing Mass Prayer Card, which was handed out to all in attendance and which contains some beautiful and encouraging words, to help lift the heart and spirit.
