We are a friendly and welcoming group of parishioners who organise trips to the theatre, cinema and concert venues. In September 2024, forty Werbies visited the Liverpool Empire to see an evening performance of the musical Sister Act, an uplifting and inspiring show that was enjoyed by all. Travel was by coach from different collection points in Chester direct to the theatre. In January 2025, parishioners once again visited a theatre to see a musical- this time the historical Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester- to see the new musical “Spend, Spend, Spend” which told the thought provoking story of pools winner Viv Nicholson and her road to misfortune. Twenty parishioners travelled by train from Chester to Manchester Piccadilly and enjoyed an after show jovial supper. Our most recent outing in March 2025 was a local one to see Chester Little Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”. It was fantastic to support local theatre and was very much enjoyed.
You will be given a warm welcome on our outings. Equally welcome are suggestions of any film, concert, play, musical that you wish us to consider. Trips are regularly advertised on the newsletter.
