For many years we have held a “Welcome Back!” Mass for the families of all those whose Funerals we have conducted in the last three years, and these occasions have been warmly welcomed and very well attended. This year, it’s on Wednesday 6th November at 7.30 pm. Everyone welcome to attend, and you can submit your names to be read out even if we didn’t conduct your family funeral. But this year we are extending the idea of “Welcome Back!” to all couples married here in the last five years, on Saturday 9th November at 2.00 pm. If you would like to come along and join us in giving thanks for your marriage, however long ago and wherever it took place, we’d love to see you.
A Red-Letter day in the life of the Parish in every respect. Cardinal Fitzgerald has spent his life on the interface between the Muslim and Christian worlds, both in key Vatican appointments and as Papal Nuncio in Egypt and Papal Delegate to the Arab States. We are delighted and honoured that he has agreed to come here to St Werburgh’s for a talk on the crucial question of how Islam and Christianity relate to each other in both theory and practice, and how both World Faiths might be able to work together to bring peace to a fractured Middle East. Wednesday, 13th November, 7.30 pm.
St Werburgh’s, St Columba’s, St Clare’s, St Winefride’s Neston and the Ellesmere Port Parishes are organising a get together tea/coffee for SVP and Non SVP beneficiaries at St Columba’s on Saturday 9th November at 2.00 pm. If you would like to join this fantastic event and know more about SVP please e-mail to svpchester@gmail.com or contact Marco on 07802 644456.
