SUNDAY 23rd JUNE 2024: TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR B)
Our New Parish Council: Thank you!
A very successful process, for which thanks due to everyone. 134 people voted, either on-line or on paper, and a total of 95 different parishioners received at least one vote. We’re delighted that the “top three” all said yes! The three new members of our Parish Council are Tina Bainbridge, Steve Tierney and Gerry Tighe. They will be joining the six “portfolio members”: Buildings and Maintenance (Marian McCarthy); Finance (Denise Jones); Housekeeping and Hospitality (Cristina Dominte); Liturgy (Lyn Williams); Outreach (Lal Cook); Social (Bernice Meredith and Pat Floate sharing). Our initial meeting is Wednesday 10th July at 7.00 pm, a chance to meet each other and talk about the key area of communication, between ourselves and between us and the Parish, and then a Shared Table Supper. Welcome on board, everyone!
Volunteers for Counting and Cleaning
Great response for collection count volunteers: thank you, we now have a full team! We still need 2 or 3 cleaners for a Monday and Wednesday morning, 1 week in 4 for 1.5 hrs. Plus, we need someone to help Amanda with Noticeboards, keeping them up to date. Anyone interested? Sunday Welcome Rota: now at back of church!
Our First Holy Communion Programme
For children not at our Catholic Primary School. Children in Year Three or above in the next school year, are invited to join our First Holy Communion Programme. There is an introductory meeting for parents in October, and our classes begin in November. First Forgiveness takes place in January and First Holy Communions are in May. The closing date for applications is Sunday 1st September.
Parish Picnic in the Park - Sunday 14th July
After the 10.45 Mass. Come along, bring a picnic and a blanket or chair and enjoy games and train rides. All welcome. Just pray for fine weather!

“Sister Act” Liverpool Friday 4th October
Liverpool Empire on Friday 4th October at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £38.50 each and coach transport to and from Chester would be approximately £12 a head, Please sign the form at the back of church.
House Masses for July and August
The next two will be July and August, with two great Country Cousins: Mike and Liz’s out in Clotton for Tuesday 16th July; and then Friday August 9th at John Petterson’s, in Great Barrow, both at 12.00 noon. And both out of doors?? Sign-up sheets at back of church
Summer Heritage Events: Trena Cox Talk
Wednesday 26th June at 2.00 pm, an occasion not to be missed. Part of Chester History Festival, church will be open for wizziters each afternoon from Friday 21st to Friday 28th June, except for Saturday 22nd. New laminated sheets on Parish History have been produced, so do come along and bring your friends.
