We were all saddened last week to hear news of the death of Bishop Brian, who led our Diocese from 1995 to 2010. He was 83 and had enjoyed a good retirement on the Wirral after battling so amazingly serious ill health earlier in his time with us. His Vigil Mass will be at the Cathedral in Shrewsbury on Tuesday 5th November at 7.00 pm, and his Requiem Mass the following day, Wednesday 6th, at St Michael and All Angels, Woodchurch, Birkenhead, at 12.00 noon. May He Rest in Peace.
Dominique and Nathalie were available at all Masses on 26th / 27th October to collect the contents of your Caritas boxes. Any more out there? Please bring monies in a strong plastic bag or envelope, clearly marked with your name. Opportunity to sign up if you wish to join.
Another of the popular free courses for parents has started at the High School on Wednesdays at 7.00 pm. It will help you to help your children to develop strong emotional wellbeing and resilience. See a little more about the course. https://youthconnect5.org.uk/. Like all our courses it's free to parents. The course will run over 5 weeks with a break for half term in the middle and is suitable for parents of children aged 8-18 yrs. Please get in touch if you're interested in taking part by contacting Claire on 07743-704-383.
Charges in City Road will begin at 2.00 pm on Sundays to accommodate those attending morning services. We’re very grateful to our Council for this concession, which will help many local Churches.
Many thanks for your typically generous response to both the Second Collection for Church Students (£1,306) and for the Cafod Harvest Fast Day (£340).
