We’re having massive problems with our emails: as soon as we switch on in the morning, the inbox empties out to zero, and then refills incredibly slowly. Our computer chap has never come across this before, and so, after a number of visits, can’t fix it. Anything recognise this problem and know what to do?
This Tuesday: Class 3 – The Seven Sacraments
Year 7 and 8 Cheese and Wine Evening – All Year 7 and 8 parents and their children are invited to a Cheese and Wine Evening with a Family Quiz on Friday 27th September at 7.30 pm.

Thanks, Denise and team, for a super spread!
Anyone willing? We have a team of four, so you’d be required only once or twice each week. Full training given. See FP if interested.
Matthew was a fine young man, a former pupil at our Catholic High School, who very sadly lost his four-year battle against Cancer last Sunday, at the very young age of 22. Our love and sympathy go out to his family and friends. His Requiem Mass is here next Friday at 12.00 noon.
Liz Aiello, our Safeguarding Rep, has done a fantastic job in clearing over 60 Parish Volunteers who work with our children and vulnerable adults. Next weekend, I’ll give a full Report to Parish on where we’re up to on this essential work.
Anyone willing to help in one of the one-hour slots between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm? Please sign up on list if you could give us an hour on Wednesday.

Auction Sale at Sotheby’s next week of the Lawrence Drizen Collection, described by them as “one of the most valuable and most important collections of Dickens remaining in private hands. Highly comprehensive in its scope it includes over 25 presentation copies inscribed by the great Victorian author to close friends, unique ‘reading copies’ used by Dickens in his tours and performances, and first editions unsurpassed for condition and provenance.” (Thanks, Harper, for the heads up).
New supply of brochures arrived, so do please take one – plus, a flyer for the three talks on Bible Translation here in St Werburgh’s, Wednesday evenings 2nd, 9th and 16th of October. We’ll be setting up our own Bible Exhibition here in church on Monday Morning, 30th September at 10.00 am, if you’d like to join us – and if you have any Bibles you’d be willing to include in our Display.
As a Parish, we try to offer refreshments after events here, especially in the evening. Anyone like to join the Team? We find two is the ideal number, it isn’t onerous – just serving the teas and coffees – and full training will be given. See FP if interested.
Extraordinary little chapel, built in 1914, in the heart of the Barolo wine region, up in the north of Italy, between Genoa and Turin. Thanks Fran!
