We have a new team in place now and will be reviewing the DBS Clearance of all our volunteers who work with children and/or vulnerable adults. Those who haven’t been cleared or whose clearance is out of date will be our top priority over the coming weeks in the following five areas: SVP, Home Holy Communion EM’s, Children’s Liturgy, FHC Catechists and Confirmation Catechists. Please watch this space for more details and information.
Wonderful response, so many kind gifts received. (They haven’t taken me long to dig in…) Please keep them coming: it’ll make for an even more colourful front garden this time next year.
Many thanks to the Team, and we do hope they’ve had a break (oops!) over the Easter Hols. Two requests: for more parents to join us, and for only children aged four and over to join us, as it’s a Class, not a Creche!!
The coach is full, and all arrangements have now been finalised. We shall leave the lay-by outside St John’s Church (next to the amphitheatre) at 8.45 am prompt. Thank you for Menu Choice Forms and remittances received.
I’m bothered that some names have been on an awfully long time – many years in some cases – and we just don’t know if they need to be on or not. So, if there is a name there that you have asked to be put on, could you please identify yourself to me, so that we know who to contact for an update. If any name is not “owned” after six weeks, we will take it off.
The same request that we received for our first WWI Book, We Shall Remember Them: the five Legal Deposit Libraries require copies, as they do of every book published in the UK. Quiz Question: can you name them??

Delighted that it’s going to Samanta and Kris!
Starting next Friday, 4th May with Toby Stanford, currently on a gap year before starting Uni, reading Music, and a superb pianist. Please take your Post Card with full details of the whole great “First Friday” Programme for 2018. It will be a lovely hour or so of music and refreshments!
Perennial request: when leaving mobile phone numbers on the answerphone, please…
“Leave Them Slowly and Leave Them Twice”.
We’ve had some beauties last week, still completely indecipherable after ten replays!
Monday 7.00 pm: Great War Plaque Liturgy Group
Thursday at 7.30 pm: Choir
Friday at 7.30 pm: First Friday Recital
It’s back to the (proper!) Thursday this year!
I’ve always run this myself (martyr, martyr!) but the number of enquirers is steadily increasing, so time to ask: would anyone like to join me?
Gardeners want to remove it: any objections? Placed there in memory of Great Uncle Obadiah in 1906? Do tell us before we get rid of it!
If you would like to attend the Eucharistic Congress in Liverpool 7th – 9th September this year, please come to a meeting on Sun 13th May.
Full publicity next week.
Will ALL readers please sign up for one Meeting?
Keep comments coming: you can’t be too picky!
