St Werburgh's Roman Catholic Parish, Chester

More than £1600 raised by Theatre Night fundraiser

[Theatre poster]Following what was described as, “one of the best BDS performances ever seen!” organisers are delighted to announce that the 2017 SVP Theatre Night, held on Wednesday 7th June, has  raised £1642 for the Chester and Ellesmere Port District Council Holiday Home Fund.

Held annually at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight Village, the SVP Theatre Night has always been a keenly anticipated production and this  year’s was a real gem from the Bebington Dramatic Society. Their rendition of ‘Hobson’s Choice’ - Harold Brighouse’s perennial masterpiece  was every bit as good as the 1954 David Lean black and white film, with Charles Laughton in the lead role.

As always, St Werburgh’s was very well represented at the Theatre Night, with some parishioners even taking the train to make the trip!
